Best Places To Live 2011: European Cities Top List, Baghdad At The Bottom (PHOTOS)

The Best Places To Live

British consulting firm Mercer has released the results of its annual "Quality of Life" survey, which ranks 420 cities in terms of standard of living. According to the survey, European cities took most of the top spots, while cities in the Middle East took many of the lower positions.

Only two U.S. cities made it into the top 30 spots, and Baghdad took the bottom spot on the list.

The survey also took a look at the personal safety of cities, with Luxembourg taking the top spot as the safest city in the world, according to the survey. But that doesn't mean all of Europe is safe.

"In 2011 Athens is ranked in Europe among the lowest in the personal safety ranking," Slagin Parakatil, Mercer's senior researcher said on their website, according to Reuters.

Baghdad also took the bottom spot of the personal safety list.
