The Best And Worst Time To Sell A House, Plus Home Staging Tips (PHOTOS)

We knew they were hiding something.

The worst time to sell a home won't really surprise you: It's the holidays, when tensions are high and budgets are low, according to Time. During the winter months, buyers aren't as active, making a seller more likely to end up with low-ball offers.

However, the magazine does note that the best time of year to sell your house is in the spring, which means now is the time to get your home ready to be shown. "Staging" in order to sell a home fast basically means positioning your residence to make sure anyone who’s interested can picture themselves living there. A big part of this is depersonalizing the space to give it a universal appeal. But this is not always so easy to do, especially if you’ve lived in the place for a long time.

So, we spoke with James Hart of Sold With Style and Matt Kelton from Showhomes, both staging and design companies, to learn helpful advice about getting a home sold fast. Click through our slideshow to see the tips and share your moving story with us in the comments below.
