Bethenny Frankel Says Split From Jason Hoppy Is 'Brutal'

'I'm Going Through A Brutal, Brutal Time'

Bethenny Frankel is as candid as they come.

"I didn't masturbate until I was 31 years old," the former "Real Housewives of New York" cast member revealed in an interview with ABC's "Nightline." "I thought that was normal."

After only briefly discussing her intimate me-time moments, the founder of Skinnygirl Cocktails spoke about her December 2012 split from hubby Jason Hoppy. The two starred in a Bravo reality show that chronicled their wedding, marriage and the birth of baby Bryn. But now that they're going through a messy divorce, Frankel has been vocal about the experience. She even called her marriage a "mistake" in People magazine.

"I'm going through a brutal, brutal time," Frankel said in the candid ABC interview. But she added that she doesn't regret letting the cameras roll on her life. "I could have stayed on the show and been like, 'Oh, everything's perfect with us. Everything's great.' It made me feel dirty for people to think that I had this perfect relationship and this perfect life."

She said that she originally wanted to be part of the "Housewives" franchise to become famous, but noted, "Fame is Pandora's box." After selling Skinnygirl to Jim Beam for an estimated $100 million and hosting her own talk show with support from Ellen DeGeneres, it's clear her goal has been accomplished.
