"2013 is the year of change," proclaims a new video produced by Chime for Change, a global campaign dedicated to promoting education, health and justice for girls. And it has recruited some very big -- and inspiring -- voices to spread that message.
On April 16th Marie Claire UK posted the video above of some of the major figures behind Chime for Change discussing the mission of the organization. The video features celebrities such as John Legend (who recently said that the world would be a better place "if men care about women's rights"), Beyonce, Salma Hayek, Zoe Saldana, Halle Berry, Katy Perry, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Arianna Huffington. Pinkett-Smith sums up the point of the campaign: "Women have a voice. They have a voice that can't be stopped."
And it seems that Beyonce, one-third of Chime for Change's founding committee, is already trying to pass that message along to her daughter, Blue Ivy. She says in the clip:
I'm telling my daughter every day, you know you can be president, you know it's possible. I know she has no idea why I'm saying that, but at one-year-old, I'm like, you know you can be president.
