Beyonce has made sure her nearest and dearest will be on hand as she takes the stage for the biggest performance of her life: the Super Bowl halftime show. Mom Tina Knowles, sister Solange Knowles, husband Jay-Z and baby Blue Ivy have all descended on New Orleans to show their support for the singer.

“This is a major moment in Beyonce’s life. It’s a once in a lifetime event and she wanted to share it with her family,” a friend tells The Huffington Post. “They are an extremely close unit who spend a lot of time together. They have each other's backs.”

The night before the big event, Jay-Z will host a bash for his liqueur, D’Ussé Cognac -- an event Beyonce is not expected to attend.

“She will be home resting making sure her voice is in top shape for her performance. When Madonna performed last year, she wasn't seen at any of the pre-Bowl events. Beyonce will not be different,” says one of the organizers.

The one person noticeably missing from the family reunion is Beyonce's dad, Mathew Knowles.

There are unconfirmed reports that Beyonce reconciled with her father in the delivery room immediately before baby Blue was born. However, sources say the two are distant after Beyonce fired Mathew as her manager in March 2011, just before news broke that he had fathered a love child with a woman 20 years his junior.
