Beyonce Pregnant: Singer Talks Pregnancy Announcement, Cravings On '20/20'

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few months, it's likely that you know that worldwide superstar Beyonce is expecting a baby with her hip-hop husband Jay-Z.

The singer has been fairly open about her pregnancy since her big belly reveal at MTV's VMAs in August, and Beyonce sat down with "20/20" correspondent Katie Couric Friday to talk about making the decision to announce the happy news at the VMAs and her take on all those crazy "fake bump" and craving rumors.

"News that's that big, it's hard to hide and keep to yourself," Beyonce said about her decision to announce her pregnancy at the VMAs. "I felt so liberated and I felt like, I can breathe and be happy. It was a beautiful feeling. I went straight off the stage and just cried. I hugged my mom, I hugged Jay, and just cried."

Beyonce said she's taking some time off from performing and will continue to take time off after the baby is born before getting back into her her enviable, tip-top shape.

"I'm not looking forward to that, because I've been have a good time," she laughed.

She also laughed off the bizarre rumors of her pregnancy cravings -- no bananas and hot sauce for her, thanks -- as well as allegations that she was sporting a fake baby bump earlier this fall during an appearance on Australian TV.

"There are certain things that are so far -- it doesn't even upset you ... It's so ridiculous and over the top," she said of the stories, adding that her mom and sister are really protective over her, especially when it comes to the baby.

And Beyonce is still mum on the sex of the baby, even though her close friend and former Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland let it slip that she's having a girl last month.

Beyonce, clearly glowing, wouldn't comment on Rowland's reveal, but we think her ear-to-ear smile says it all.
