DJ Steve Porter, known for his remixes of infomercials and press conferences, has teamed up with the Sierra Club and their Beyond Coal campaign.

This week, Porter and the Sierra Club released the video below to help raise awareness for coal alternatives.

Mary Anne Hitt, director of the Beyond Coal campaign, said in a press release, "This marks the first time a non-profit organization like the Sierra Club has worked with someone like DJ Steve Porter to create a remix video. Creative, internet-based videos are no longer something reserved for major corporations to promote products; we’re now using this type of media to promote issues that the public cares about."

Earlier this summer, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg committed $50 million to the Beyond Coal campaign.

Bloomberg said in a press release, "Coal is a self-inflicted public health risk, polluting the air we breathe, adding mercury to our water, and the leading cause of climate disruption."

Last month, a group of break dancers took to the streets of New York City to raise awareness for the Beyond Coal campaign.

Street artist Jetsonorama is also using his talent to speak out against coal. He is working in Arizona and on the Navajo Nation reservation "to highlight the relationship of coal to health, economy, and people."
