Former Gov. Bill Richardson Not Ready To Endorse Hillary Clinton

Former Dem Gov Not Ready To Endorse Hillary Clinton

Former New Mexico Bill Richardson (D) said he's not quite ready to endorse former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for president.

Richardson -- who famously endorsed then-Senator Barack Obama over Clinton in 2008 -- said he wants to see what other Democrats enter the race during an interview on Ora.tv’s "PoliticKING with Larry King."

"I think there should be open competition, I know Hillary Clinton is a formidable candidate," Richardson said. "It’s not that I won’t ever be there but right now, I’m not one of those hundred of democrats flocking and saying the race is over, I think we still have a couple years to go, and instead of worrying about the presidential race, we should worry about this year, keeping the house, keeping the senate and protecting our flanks in the house instead of worrying about 2016 and the presidency."

Richardson also addressed his contentious Obama endorsement, telling King that former President Bill Clinton still has hard feelings over the move.

Clinton has not yet said whether she will enter the 2016 presidential race.
