Bill Richardson spent Friday, October 5, in Atlanta, GA, where he chartered a Spanish-named campaign infrastructure in a state with its fair share of anti-immigrant sentiments; had a lonely lunch at the Varsity; and, in a bit of a switch, helped local Democrats raise a little money for their efforts here at home.

After visiting with the Georgia Tech Young Dems, Bill Richardson stopped for lunch at the Varsity, an Atlanta must-see in the world of fast food. However, the greasy food wasn't the only thing causing the Richardson campaign heartburn: a second-tier Democrat apparently can't draw more than a dozen or so supporters, a sad showing compared to the way Mitt Romney packed the joint to the gills.

I asked Gov. Richardson how he plans to break out of the cursed second tier...and got the usual talking points in return: guns, governors, and getting out the message. Note to Bill: I'm not sure referencing Jimmy Carter as a reason to vote for a governor like you is such a great idea. You want a second term, don't you?
