Billy Dee Williams Admits How He Underestimated 'Dancing With The Stars' (VIDEO)

Billy Dee Williams On His 'DWTS' Departure: 'It's Bittersweet'

Billy Dee Williams’ run on “Dancing With the Stars” came to an abrupt end earlier this week when the 77-year-old actor announced his heartfelt departure from the ABC competition show due to an ongoing “chronic back problem.”

Following his announcement on Monday, the former Colt 45 spokesman and “Star Wars” actor appeared on “Good Morning America” where he admitted how he underestimated the show’s rigorous schedule.

“It’s one thing to sit and watch that show, but to participate it’s a whole different world. It’s like four hours a day, six days a week…it’s pretty strenuous,” Williams said before his dance partner, Emma Slater added, “It was really a tough decision, but it was kind of an easy decision to make when you know it’s the right thing to do. And so, it’s bittersweet.”
