Bjork Kickstarter: Singer Crowdsources Project To Bring 'Biophilia' App To Android And Windows (VIDEO)

So... Bjork Has A Kickstarter

One of today's most unconventional artists is making a pretty conventional artist move by creating a Kickstarter campaign. Iceland's favorite songbird is asking fans to help crowdsource her ultimate vision for "Biophilia" via an accompanying smartphone app.

In 2011, Bjork released "Biophilia" along with iPad and iPhone apps to enhance the album's musical and educational experience. Two years later, the singer wants to reach out to non-Mac owners as well, providing Androids and Windows 8 users a chance to engage with her latest album in radically innovative ways.

The singer explains her motivations on her Kickstarter page:

The app also serves as part of the Biophilia Educational Program, a non-profit global project aiming to make the scientific ideas from Biophilia available to teachers and students everywhere; the project has until February 27 to raise nearly $600,000.
