Black Bear Falls From Tree After Tranquilized, Nudged By Firefighter In Colorado (VIDEO)

WATCH: Another Bear 'Falls' From A Tree

Black bears in the Rocky Mountains have a knack for gaining media attention.

Nearly a month after a photographer captured an epic image of a bear falling from a tree near the University of Colorado, another bear has made headlines after it climbed up a tree in a residential area in Steamboat Springs, Colo.

Wildlife officials tranquilized the black bear earlier this week, but it continued to climb and got stuck among the branches, CNN reports. Firefighters had to come to its aid and push the animal until it fell to safety.

According to KREX-TV, the bear will be transported to an area outside the city and released.

Unfortunately, the first bear's life came to a tragic end when it was hit by two cars on a highway, the Associated Press reports. The animal was also relocated to a rural area, but wildlife officials think it was wondering back toward town in search of food.

Black bears are native to the forests of Colorado and begin emerging from hibernation around April. The Colorado Division of Wildlife notes that persons should strive to keep the animals "wild" by never giving them food or leaving trash and recyclables outside overnight.

Police in Steamboat Springs are now working to increase enforcement of the city's trash regulations due to the increased amount of "nuisance bears" in the area, the Steamboat Pilot & Today reports.
