It's Shopping Time: Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday

I'll be spending Small Business Saturday shopping in my own neighborhood of Red Hook, where small businesses like Baked (a cookie shop) and Erie Basin (a vintage jewelry boutique) were nearly devastated by Sandy.

The rules of Black Friday are changing. This year, everything's been early, early, early, with online sales starting on Wednesday, and stores like Lord & Taylor happily opening their doors on Thanksgiving Day. Cyber Monday is still a part of all the marketing, but now it really means zilch: people are no longer waiting until Monday to shop the web on their lunch break -- they're doing it after work, after dinner and after sex! I encourage everyone to visit the independent shops in their town -- there's so much good stuff! Of course, sifting through all these discounts and deals can be daunting. My team rounded up the Black Friday and Cyber Monday -- or whatever you want to call it! -- deals we're most excited about:
