The white smoke emerged from the Sistene Chapel indicating that a leader has been chosen for the Catholic Church. And as the world waited with baited breath, we got to thinking... is the world ready for a black pope?

In the past, Cardinal Peter Turkson of Ghana had been considered as a possible contender for the position. But would the church--and the world--really be ready to make such a move?
