'Black Sails' Trailer: First Look At Starz's Michael Bay Pirate Drama (VIDEO)

Pirates: The New Zombies?

Michael Bay's new pirate drama "Black Sails" now has a trailer!

The Starz series will hit airwaves in 2014, but you don't have to wait that long to see a preview. The "Black Sails" trailer above provides a good look at the upcoming series, which should interest fans of Starz's recently departed "Spartacus" -- there are abs, sword fights and accents!

The eight-episode first season of "Black Sails" is set 20 years before Robert Louis Stevenson's classic "Treasure Island." The series will follow Captain Flint (Toby Stephens), the most brilliant and feared pirate captain of his day, whose new young addition to his crew, John Silver (Luke Arnold), has stolen a map to a Spanish Treasure galleon that Flint is after. Together, they fight against the British Royal Navy for the survival of New Providence Island, a debauched paradise teeming with pirates, prostitutes, thieves and fortune seekers. Zack McGowan, Hannah New, Jessica Parker Kennedy and Clara Paget round out the "Black Sails" cast.

Bay is an executive producer on the series with his Platinum Dunes partners Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. Jon Steinberg, the creator of "Jericho," created the series and will serve as showrunner and executive producer. "Black Sails" is currently in production in Cape Town, South Africa.
