Blake Shelton took time out of his busy FaceTiming schedule to accept one of the top honors in country music at the Country Music Television Music Awards in Nashville on Wednesday night.

Shelton referenced his split with country star Miranda Lambert and new relationship with Gwen Stefani as part of his "crazy year" in his acceptance speech for the CMT Artist of the Year Award.

Friend and fellow country crooner, Trace Adkins, introduced the five-time CMA Male Vocalist of the Year winner by taking a jab at recent tumult in Shelton's personal life.

"I've known Blake personally and professionally for 15 years or so. And his rise to fame has really been incredible to watch," Adkins began. "On top of all that, he has still got his day job on 'The Voice.' Not a whole lot this guy can't do, other than keep his love life private."

Who knew country music could be so shady?

"This is awesome. I've never gotten one of these from CMT before and been jealous over the last few years," Shelton said after taking the stage. "First of all, thank you to CMT for including me on this. So cool."

"So let me just say that I want to thank my label and thank my entire team," he continued. "There's too many people to stand up here and name, but more importantly, I want to say that this has been a crazy year, from the way it started to how it's ending so awesome for me. So thank y'all. This is a great way to end it for me. Thank you so much."

It's fair to assume Shelton is referencing his very public relationship with Stefani, who recently performed the breakup ballad of the year "Used to Love You" on "The Voice."

"I saw what she's going to be wearing for this performance tonight, it's gonna be -- it's stunning," Shelton gushed to ET. "I'm thankful for Gwen for tons of reasons...But mostly just because she makes us all look a whole lot better on this show."

We can't argue with that. Watch Stefani's full performance below.
