Blind Man Teaches Kids To Read, Wants To 'See Them Overcoming Their Obstacles'

This motivational man serves as a great example to kids that you don't have to be limited by your limitations.

Jeff Balek is blind and he spends his free time helping children learn to read. Balek volunteers as a reading buddy at the YMCA's Y Readers Program in Charlotte, North Carolina.

"I get inspired because I see them overcoming their obstacles," says Balek in the video above, posted on the YMCA's YouTube channel, last month.

Balek reads along with the second- and third-graders in Braille and helps them when they stumble on difficult words, according to the video above.

"I love volunteering because I love helping kids succeed in their reading," says Balek.
