You know there are two types of desserts:
The Dud: You're all ready for that 'super delicious everybody's talking about it' dessert. Three bites in and you're mind drifts away to dishes in the sink. "Yeah, I guess I'd eat that again." Meh, whatever.
The Bomb: It's 2:37am and you're standing over those dishes in the kitchen sink, eyes closed, shoveling decadence into your pie hole as a powder keg of yum detonates...
Are you picking up what I'm laying down? Thought so.
This chocolate mousse is explosive. A total show-stopper.
You might think that a dessert that drives you from your bed in the middle of the night in a chocolate stupor will be nothing short of a culinary feat to make it perfectly. Chocolate mousse traditionally involves a lot of high-maintenance melting of chocolate and beating of egg whites until frothy-- it's a production. And who has time for that?
This recipe is all the rich reward without all the work. You just blend, chill and prepare for orange zested chocolate scrumptiousness.
It's luxurious in it's velvety smooth texture, but has a light, airy quality that is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Plus, it's low-carb and gluten free, so that decadent moment on your lips, won't be a lifetime on your hips. Warning: Night feedings over the kitchen sink may occur.
Can't ya just taste it? Thought so.
