Blythe Danner Will Be Playing Ruth Madoff In An Upcoming ABC Miniseries

She played the wife of an imprisoned Ponzi schemer in the 2013 play "Commons Of Pensacola," and now Blythe Danner will be bringing a similar character to screen -- only this time, she's not fictional.

Speaking to HuffPost Live on Tuesday, the veteran actress said she'd soon be appearing in the role of Ruth Madoff in an onscreen retelling of the Bernie Madoff scandal.

"This will be with Richard Dreyfuss that I'm going to play Mrs. Bernie Madoff, in an ABC miniseries," she added.

Ruth Madoff's husband Bernie is currently serving an 150-year prison sentence for committing the largest financial fraud in U.S. history. The two continue to be legally married.

Catch Blythe Danner in her new film "I'll See You In My Dreams," out May 15th.
