Jane Bashara Murder: Husband Bob Bashara Speaks To Media Outside Family Home

Bob Bashara Speaks To Media About Wife Jane's Murder

The husband of Jane Bashara, the Grosse Pointe Park woman who was found strangled to death last week, gave his first statement to the press Wednesday afternoon.

Police have named Bob Bashara a "person of interest" in the case. They also reportedly have one man in custody who alleges Bob Bashara paid him less than $2,000 to kill Jane Bashara.

Bob Bashara stood with his mother and son, Rob, outside the family's home in Grosse Pointe Park Wednesday.

"We have cooperated with law enforcement agencies and will continue to do so," he said. "We ask for your continued prayers and ask for your support and respect of our privacy as we deal with this heartbreak and try to cope."

Bashara refused questions from the press about allegations that he hired a hit man.

"I have nothing to say," he repeated before his son, Rob Bashara, broke in.

"My sister and I really support our dad throughout all of this, and we really just miss our mom so much," Rob Bashara said. The Basharas' daughter, Jessica, was not present at the press conference.
