Bob Beckel Has A Long History Of Saying Awful Things

Bob Beckel, one of Fox News's resident "liberal" pundits, is in hot water these days.

Beckel's use of the term "Chinamen" on a recent edition of "The Five" has been met with widespread outrage and fueled calls for his firing.

On Monday, Politico reported that Beckel would address his comments on the next episode of "The Five." He duly did so, apologizing for having "apparently" offended people.

But this is far from the only incendiary comment Beckel has been forced to walk back during his time on "The Five." It's not even the first time he's had to apologize for using the word "Chinamen."

There was the time he said that his eyes looked "Oriental" after he went swimming.

There was the time he had to clarify his statement that all Nigerians were scam artists and that Iranians feed their children to dogs.

There was the time he had to address the firestorm he caused after he said that rape didn't happen on college campuses.

There were the many, many times he's portrayed Muslims as a dangerous threat to the United States. (Notably, Beckel has usually not been faced internal pressure to apologize for those comments.)

No matter what Beckel says, Fox News seems to like having him around. On Monday, the network even put him on TV for a whole other hour, as one of the hosts of its 12 PM show, "Outnumbered." Beckel's "Chinamen" comments didn't come up.
