After February's highly public fracas, Washington Post reporter and White House economic adviser Gene Sperling met for lunch to put the whole feud behind them.

During Politico's Playbook Breakfast, Senior White House adviser Dan Pfeiffer appeared in conversation and revealed that he, Jay Carney, Woodward and Sperling had lunch together shortly after the kerfuffle. Pfeiffer said:

It was a good conversation, and ... we had a good laugh about this and we had a serious discussion with the issues. .... I think the long relationship that Gene has had with Bob and the shorter relationship that Jay and I have had with Bob will continue, and I'm glad about that.

Woodward and Sperling made headlines in February when the Washington Post reporter suggested in a few interviews that a top Obama adviser had threatened him in an email after he penned an op-ed criticizing the president's handling of the budget sequester negotiations.

Politico published the supposedly threatening email exchange between Woodward and Sperling, revealing that the conversation seemed somewhat heated but overall, pretty benign.

Like all Washington D.C. feuds, the two men were brought together by way of the Sunday talk shows. Sperling appeared on "Meet The Press," Woodward appeared on "Face the Nation," and before noon on Sunday, the two men had agreed to make amends.
