Bobby Gibson Jr. Shot: Teen Killed In South Miami A Block From Home (VIDEO)

AWFUL: 15-Year-old Boy Gunned Down A Block From Home

Another teenager was the victim of a deadly shooting near Miami over the weekend.

The boy, identified by CBS Miami and WSVN as 15-year-old Bobby Gibson Jr., was reportedly shot a block away from his father's South Miami home on Sunday.

Neighbors told police they heard gunshots just before 11 p.m. and discovered Gibson had tried to make it home after being shot several times, but eventually collapsed on the sidewalk.

Police have yet to find a suspect or motivation behind the shooting.

"He loved playing football and basketball," a relative told WSVN. "He's a sweet person. I don't know who would want to do anything like that to him."

The tragedy was one of several local shootings over the weekend. In Hialeah, a man living with his mother gunned down six neighbors in his apartment complex, including a 17-year-old aspiring nurse, in one of Miami's deadliest mass shootings ever. Gunman Pedro Vargas, 42, was fatally shot by a SWAT team who stormed the building.

And WSVN reports that early Monday morning in Miami Gardens, a gunman in a black SUV pulled-up alongside a Nissan, emerged from the sunroof and began firing at the vehicle, critically wounding two passengers and grazing another.
