Boston Marathon bombing survivors and wounded military vets walked together during an emotional pre-game ceremony at Thursday night's New England Patriots home opener against the New York Jets.
A Chicago-area nonprofit called Operation Warrior Wishes helped organized the event, the Associated Press reported. The Patriots and Gillette Stadium donated tickets to the 11 bombing survivors and 11 vets in attendance.

“It was just incredible," Heather Abbott -- who lost her foot in the April 15 bombings -- told CBS Boston. "It was so great to hear the support from the crowd and to see all of the fellow bombing victims that I haven’t seen in a while."

Celeste Corcoran, who lost both of her legs in the bombing, told the AP that the event was an opportunity to meet her "new family."
"Under the terrible circumstances that we all met, there is a common bond that means something to all of us, to see each other and to know that we're continuing to do well," she said.
