Boston Marathon Bombing Movie, 'Boston Strong,' Will Be Written By 'The Fighter' Screenwriters

Boston Marathon Bombing Movie Coming

Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy, two of the three credited screenwriters on the 2010 Best Picture nominee "The Fighter," will adapt an upcoming book on the Boston Marathon bombings for the big screen. Called "Boston Strong," the non-fiction account of the terrorist attack is set for release sometime next year. Casey Sherman and Boston Herald reporter Dave Wedge will write "Boston Strong."

The duo received an Oscar nomination for "The Fighter," along with Scott Silver, who also worked on the screenplay for that film. Director David O. Russell, too, had a hand in crafting the final script, though he was uncredited for his work. ("On 'The Fighter,' I worked with Scott Silver. I had a hand in helping to rewrite that script," Russell told Indiewire in a recent interview.)

The Boston Marathon bombing left three dead and over 260 injured. More on the attack and its aftermath can be found here.
