Boy Claims He's A Dwarf After He Gets Busted On Joyride

A 10-year-old boy in Norway had quite the excuse when he was caught driving with his baby sister early Wednesday morning.

After a snow plow operator found the kids in a ditch on the side of the road, the precocious young driver reportedly shrugged off his age by claiming to be a dwarf and insisting that he forgot to bring along his driver's license.

According to local reports, the adolescent decided to take the family car out for a joyride after his parents fell asleep. With his 18-month-old sister in the car, he managed to drive about nine miles toward their grandparents' house before snowy conditions forced them off the road.

"This seems to have happened on an impulse. He woke up at night, his sister was also awake and he decided to take her for a ride," local police officer Kai Lyshaugen said, according to Norway's The Local.

A passing snowplow driver was the first to spot the daring duo around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. When questioned by another plow driver, the 10-year-old boy claimed to be a dwarf and said he ended up off the road when he tried to make a U-turn to retrieve his forgotten license. The boy asked for help getting out of the ditch.

Police were called to the scene and promptly returned the children to their parents, who had awoken to find their kids and car missing. Neither of the children were injured in the early morning adventure.
