Bryan Fischer: Boy Scouts' Gay Youth Ruling Supported By Mormons In Hopes Of Restoring Polygamy

Boy Scouts Got Mormon Support To Drop Gay Ban For Shocking Reason, Says Pundit

The American Family Association 's Bryan Fischer suggested the Boy Scouts of America be re-named the "Boy Sodomizers of America" after the organization opted to drop its controversial ban on gay youth participants last week.

But Fischer, whose anti-gay rants have become a near-weekly staple of his "Focal Point" radio show, isn't stopping there. He's now singled out the Mormon church's support for the BSA's amended view on gay Scouts as evidence that church officials are hoping legalization of polygamy will follow, Right Wing Watch is reporting.

"As the homosexual agenda advances, the next domino to fall is gonna be the against polygamy," he said. "The [Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints believes] that the homosexual agenda may be the secret to restoring polygamy to America, and this would vindicate Mormon doctrine from the very beginning."

Fischer has made his opposition to the BSA's revisal of its gay policy profoundly known since the start of the year. In January, he told listeners that the BSA debate was a “suicide mission” that would undoubtedly lead to pedophilia.

He later suggested allowing openly gay Scouts would create "sexual tension" on camping trips, as Right Wing Watch also reported.

"You really can't have Boy Scouts who are open homosexuals, because they're gonna be mingling, they're gonna be in the same tent, they're gonna be on camping trips, they're gonna be in cabins with boys," he said. "You just can't take the risk."
