He's Brad Smith, a professional football player, Canada's first-ever "Bachelor." Most recently with the Edmonton Eskimos, the Quebec native wants to take time away from the sport to find love.
After waiting several months with bated breath, "The Bachelor Canada" finally revealed the Canadian man looking for love. Smith was interviewed on Breakfast Television this morning at the top of Toronto's CN Tower. He's looking for a "low-maintenance" kind of girl, and definitely considers himself a romantic.
The enduringly popular reality show is slated to start on Citytv this fall. The U.S. host of "The Bachelor," Chris Harrison, announced on a January visit to Toronto that the search for a batch of ladies was going strong -- we assume the contestants are ramping up for full competition at the moment.
Smith is joining as the 15th bachelor in the franchise, and is the second Canadian to search for love on "The Bachelor." The first Canadian was Jesse Palmer, the fifth Bachelor, who ended up briefly dating his choice. They broke up after several months together.
