Brazilian Blowout vs. Keratin Treatment

One of the biggest benefits of receiving a Brazilian blowout instead of a basic keratin treatment is that a Brazilian blowout is a lot more convenient. The process only takes about 90 minutes whereas other keratin treatments take between two and three hours to finish and you still need to wash out the product after three days.

Brazilian blowout and keratin treatments are hair smoothing treatments used to straighten hair without causing any damage to the hair follicles. These treatments bond protein to the outer layer of the hair, which help smooth, protect, soften, and relax the hair. The bonding process takes place once a flat iron is applied.

Both treatments remove frizz, add shine, seal in color, and decrease blow dry time, but a Brazilian blowout is often the preferred option. Before we get into the reasons why, let's discuss these treatments in detail.

Brazilian Blowout -- The product used for this treatment gets its protein from a blend of amino acids and the results are incredible. Before the product is applied the hair is shampooed and carefully dried until only a small amount of moisture remains. Once we apply the product the hair is blow dried and flat-ironed. When the hair is completely dry we shampoo the hair and completely rinse out the product. Next we apply conditioner, rinse it out, and dry the hair one last time.

Keratin Treatment -- Similar to the Brazilian blowout keratin treatments start with shampooing the hair and drying it completely. Next the product is applied and covered with a cap for roughly 20 to 30 minutes. The hair is then blow dried and flat-ironed. Clients leave the salon with the product in their hair and are asked to wash it out after three days.

Benefits of Brazilian Blowout

One of the biggest benefits of receiving a Brazilian blowout instead of a basic keratin treatment is that a Brazilian blowout is a lot more convenient. The process only takes about 90 minutes whereas other keratin treatments take between two and three hours to finish and you still need to wash out the product after three days.

Another benefit of getting a Brazilian blowout instead of another keratin treatment is that the process is done as soon as you leave the salon. You can do whatever you want with your hair and the look will last about three months. As mentioned earlier, other keratin treatments require you to wait three full days before rinsing out the product at home. During that time you can't do anything that will crease your hair, such as putting your hair behind your ears or wearing barrettes or bobby pins.

Brazilian blowouts don't harm your hair in any way and we love seeing the look on a client's face when the treatment is finished.
