Bret Michaels Has Medical Emergency, Is Rushed Off Stage In Manchester, N.H.

Rocker Bret Michaels rushed off the stage at the Palace Theatre in Manchester, N.H., on Thursday night, in what was described as a medical emergency.

"In the 9 years I've stood next to him, I've never seen a look like the one on his face as if I was a complete stranger," Michaels’ guitarist, Pete Evick, wrote on Facebook. "When I rushed to the bus he could (barely) speak, but begged me to apologize to the fans and seemed only concerned for them."

The 51-year-old Poison frontman and reality TV star is a Type-1 diabetic, and had performed just three songs when he experienced "extremely low" blood sugar levels, Evick said.

Evick told Metal Sludge that paramedics were on Michaels' tour bus and that he was being taken to a hospital, and added via text message, "Bret looked at me and looked like he was gonna die.”

Later, someone posting on Michaels' behalf added a message on Twitter:

Michaels, who suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2010, has concerts scheduled for Friday night in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., and Saturday night in Albany, N.Y. It's not yet clear if he will be able to perform.
