PREVIOUSLY:
Bret Michaels has spoken and shown some signs of improvement since he had a massive brain hemorrhage on Friday, his father, Wally Sychak, told Extra on Tuesday.

"Well, the fact that he was talking to me, and giving me information, I thought that was great. I understood that this was a terrible ordeal that he was going through. We're not getting information right now. I guess no news is good news," Sychak told Extra.

He said his son was "moving his arms and hands" and his progress was as good as could be expected.

"He sounded a little slow, but fine," Sychak said. "He was talking, not as cheerful as he usually is. But I guess he is under sedation. But he understood what he was saying and knew me. Everything seemed good that way."

Michaels' rep told Access Hollywood that Michaels is still in the ICU undergoing more tests to determine the source of the bleeding in the his brain stem.

His condition has been upgraded from critical to stable, Radaronline.com reports.
