Brett Favre Returning To Green Bay? Packers President Mark Murphy Wants Favre Back In Organization

Brett Favre Returning To Green Bay?

After some retirement flip-flopping, Green Bay traded Brett Favre to the New York Jets in 2008. On Tuesday, Packers President Mark Murphy said he would welcome Favre back to the organization in the future.

"Yeah, at the appropriate time, we'll reach out to him," Murphy said. "And I envision he'll come back into the fold."

Murphy also talked about retiring Favre's number in the future, but said the organization hasn't officially reached out to him yet.

"Yeah we want to make sure it's the right time for him," said Murphy.

After his last season in Green Bay ended with a loss in the NFC Championship, the legendary quarterback announced his retirement and the team moved on with Aaron Rodgers.

Favre was traded to the Jets and after one season, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings.

The 41-year-old said in November that he will not return to play in 2011. He filed his retirement papers in the middle of January.
