Brewers Turn Triple Play Against Dodgers (VIDEO)

Brewers Turn Wild Triple Play

Other than an inside-the-park home run, the triple play might be the next most exciting and unexpected play in baseball. The Milwaukee Brewers pulled off a wild triple play on Monday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers, recording the final out at home plate.

With men on first and second, Dodgers first baseman James Loney smacked one up the middle, but Brewers second baseman Josh Wilson was able to get to the ball quickly and flip it to shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt for the first out. Betancourt then threw a laser to Prince Fielder at first for the second out. As the ball reached first base, Matt Kemp decided to try and score from third but Fielder was alert and threw him out at home.

"In case you didn't know, it was my second one," Wilson said after Milwaukee's 3-0 win, referring to the triple play he started in 2009 with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports that it was just the sixth 4-6-3-2 triple play since 1986.

The Cleveland Indians turned a triple play in April during their 7-1 victory over the White Sox.
