Intolerance, racism, bigotry, anger, and fear are not plans. And yet, fear and her ugly partners have won in the UK. Now there is world-wide financial chaos and confusion and more anger. But there is no plan. Anger is not a plan. Hatred is not a plan. Isolationism is not an answer or a plan. The people of the UK are realizing how significant and complicated their #Brexit "oops" moment is, and many want a do-over.

#Brexit is a movement lead by angry people who want to take their country back. Sound familiar? #Brexit is what happens when informed, intelligent, sensible people do not take the time to vote; or worse yet in this case, vote without doing the necessary due diligence and weighing the consequences of their actions. The unprecedented fallout included the evaporation of $2 trillion in wealth, the possible breakup of the UK & the EU, and continued financial turmoil for a couple of years for the entire world... Leading many to wonder how this happened.

This story is our warning. Experts said #Brexit could not happen. This parallels the improbable rise of Trump, and the chaos and destruction an unthinkable Trump presidency would cause. The amount of damage caused by Brexit to the UK and the world is unfolding. This is a wakeup call for America. Hatred and intolerance are already winning here. The last seven years of obstruction and voter suppression are only the beginning. We can stop and reverse the trend. But people must vote smart -- and not vote against their own interests.

We have arguably the most qualified candidate in our history running against the king of intolerance and fear. Secretary Clinton is a smart team-builder, who is experienced, informed, confident, professional, and ready to be Commander-in-Chief. Mr. Trump's campaign speaks for itself. Sec. Clinton's intelligence, love of country, and wit trumps Trump every day of the week.

While the choice is clear, people actually have to vote. Frustration surrounds us all, but there are consequences for not voting, or voting based on irrational fears & emotions - the chaos surrounding Brexit is just one example. We can and must avoid our own "oops" moment by taking our own election more seriously. Maybe Brexit will shock some sense into us.

Sec. Clinton is not a great campaigner. So what? The mud-slinging she has endured over the years shows how tough she is. Why does she even bother? Because she loves our country more than she hates being a target of angry people with too much time and money on their hands. We have heard their hate before, and we will hear it again. We must not allow that hate to prosper.

Let's thank the UK for this very valuable teaching moment demonstrating why it is so important to get out and vote -- for the best and most qualified candidates. We are lucky to have Secretary Clinton, and Senator Sanders, who has made her a stronger candidate. Voting smart is worth your time. Just ask a Brit!
