Why Being More Interconnected Doesn't Mean We're More In Control

Brian Gallagher, president and CEO of United Way, stopped by HuffPost Live at Davos Wednesday where he talked about how interconnected the world is -- and how that's not necessarily an improvement.

"There is no doubt that we... have never been more interconnected as a world," Gallagher said.

Gallagher said though that the world "feels more out of control" to people today.

"Because we're interconnected doesn't mean we're in control," he added.

"We see it economically, we see it socially, we've certainly see it in terms of terrorism... and yet our connection with each other is instantaneous 24/7. So being connected doesn't mean control," Gallagher said.

"We are clearly more aware of both good things and bad things that are happening around the world in real time," Gallagher said.
