Brian Scott Dead: Cozmik, Rising Rollerblader, Shot Outside Brooklyn Coffee Shop (VIDEOS)

Well-known rollerblader and high school senior Brian Scott, known as Cozmik (or Cosmik), was murdered on Monday night in a Brooklyn coffee shop shooting a block from Prospect Park.

The gunman entered the Parkside Coffee and Donut Shop just after 8:20 p.m. and began shooting at three victims. Scott was the only fatality, though two other young men were injured.

Scott, who had won the Triple A Insurance 200 in May, was an up-and-coming "new school skater" at just 18 years of age who achieved fame through online skating videos. He was described by online rollerblading-magazine ONE as having "a very humble personality and a constant smile on his of the first to come to mind when thinking about up-and-comers in our skate scene."

Friends of Scott's believe that the shooting may have been a case of mistaken identity. Police are hoping to learn more about the shooting after reviewing security video footage.
