Brian Williams To Distance Himself From 'Rock Center': Report

Brian Williams Reportedly Distancing Himself From NBC News Show

Brian Williams is reportedly ready to put some space between himself and "Rock Center With Brian Williams."

New York Post's Page Six said Wednesday that a source told the newspaper, "Now Brian will start distancing himself from the show. It may even no longer be called ‘. . . With Brian Williams’ and other people will start anchoring the show."

The report comes after NBC News announced that it was moving "Rock Center" to Friday nights at 10 p.m. The move did not seem to bode well for the newsmagazine, which has struggled to find an audience since it debuted in 2011.

Another source close to the show, however, disputed any rumors, telling Page Six, “Brian is and remains the anchor. His name stays in the title — [there are] no other anchors. ‘Rock Center’ isn’t being scheduled ‘around’ ‘Dateline.’ In fact, by moving ‘Rock Center’ to Fridays at 10, NBC’s creating a two-hour news magazine block in prime time.”
