Windsor, Missouri, Officials Ask Male Public Workers To Bring Own Toilet Paper To Work (VIDEO)

City officials in one Missouri town have come up with a simple plan to cut public spending: BYOTP.

That's right, male public works employees in Windsor, Missouri, were reportedly told to bring their own toilet paper to work after a city administrator claimed the male workers were using too much toilet paper during a time of budget constraints, according to KCTV5 News. The 10 male employees were apparently using far more toilet paper than the four female employees, causing the city to go over its budget for bathroom supplies.

This isn't the first time in recent years that toilet paper has become a victim of budget cuts. In Newark, New Jersey, Mayor Cory Booker told Fox 11 News in 2010 that the city government would stop spending on toilet paper "to keep the fiscal integrity of our city strong."

That same year, elementary school students in Honolulu, Hawaii were asked to bring their own toilet paper to class, The New York Times reported at the time.

Windsor's mayor, Justin Brown, told KCTV5 that, in his opinion, the town may have taken its belt-tightening efforts a bit too far with the toilet paper rule.

"We are always looking for ways to save money," Windsor Mayor Justin Brown told KCTV5 after hearing the strange news. "I'm just fearful that this finally hit a fever pitch and this is where it got ridiculous."
