Britney Spears In 2002: Fashion Flashback! (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Relive The Magic Of Britney Spears In 2002

With our weekly Fashion Flashback, we like to provide a a quick glimpse -- a snapshot, if you will -- at a past fashion era or moment that is still capturing our hearts or simply tickling our funny bone. And yes, we tend to favor the '90s because, hey, we're children of the '90s.

So today we're taking a nostalgic Walk Down Memory Lane to a slightly more recent era when Britney Spears still had all her hair, flaunted her toned tummy in low-rise pants like it was going out of style (Ed. note: it was) and danced like everyone was watching.

The year was 2002 and Britney was at her peak. Coming off the success of "I'm a Slave 4 U" and her epically sexy MTV VMAs performance (remember the python?), she embarked on her Dream Within a Dream concert tour, which became one of the highest grossing tours ever for a female artist. That year she was named the "world's most powerful celebrity" by Forbes, crossed over into film with "Crossroads" and presented Michael Jackson a birthday cake (and an impromptu "Artist of the Millennium" award) at the 2002 MTV VMAs.

Through it all, Britney's fashion was always on-trend, for better or for worse. Low-rise was in, flared jeans were the thing, hats of all kinds -- fedoras, newsboy caps, those Samuel L. Jackson styles -- were all the rage, denim trenchcoats existed and chokers were still acceptable. Britney wore it all, complementing her sexy look with long blonde hair, a rather subdued beauty regimen and that ubiquitous belly button ring.

And for the first half of the year, she still had her best accessory on her arm: Justin Timberlake. And he still had frosted tips.

Yes, those were the good old days. Jump back ten years and relive Britney Spears' style circa 2002 in our slideshow. Happy Friday!
