Woman With Troubled Past In Arizona Finds More Trouble In Florida

A Florida woman once accused of bestiality is now charged with having illicit sex with a teenage boy.

Brittany Sonnier, 23, faces charges of lewd and lascivious sexual battery and contributing to delinquency of a minor. She was arrested Monday in Volusia County after a 15-year-old boy told cops the two had sex, WKMG reported.

The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that the teen's parents contacted police after they found out their son had allegedly been smoking marijuana, drinking beer and having sex with Sonnier, who lives next door to the boy's father in Holly Hill.

The boy told police that he met the woman while staying at his father's house in March, and that she knew he was underage.

This isn't the first time Sonnier has been accused of deviant sexual activity. In 2012, she was arrested on suspicion of bestiality in Arizona after her then-boyfriend told police that she'd revealed fantasies about having sex with dogs. He also said she'd admitted to having "oral and vaginal sex" with two dogs, police told The Huffington Post at the time.

A public records search revealed that those charges were dismissed in August 2013. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that Sonnier told police she moved to Florida and changed her name to avoid her past.

The boy didn't know about the woman's past allegations and was grossed out when his dad told him about them, according to police.

According to The Daytona Beach News-Journal:

Sonnier initially denied the allegations but she later admitted to police that she allowed the teen to smoke marijuana and drink beer, the report states. She admitted to having sex with the teen but explained it happened because she was drunk, police said. Sonnier said she drinks a lot to hide her problems.
