Amy Poehler To Bring 'Broad City' Web Series To TV On FX Network

Amy Poehler Producing TV Show Based On Popular Web Series

Deadline announced Tuesday that "Broad City," the cult web series from writer/actor/creators Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, is in development with FX to become a TV series. And what's more, Amy Poehler is on board as executive producer.

The series, which chronicles the lives of two 20-somethings living in New York, has managed to fly slightly under the radar despite pulling big guest stars like Kristen Schaal because Glazer and Jacobson have gained their following largely via sites like YouTube and Tumblr. But the announcement may not come as a surprise to fans who remember Poehler's cameo in the series' season finale back in May, and the move to TV will certainly introduce their absurd vidchats and frank point of view to a much broader audience.

Considering FX's impressive comedy lineup ("Louie", "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia", "The League") and the four Emmy wins Poehler already has under her belt, it's safe to say that the ladies have found a solid launching pad for their first series.

We've included the show teaser here, but do yourself a favor and check out the full episodes online.
