Broncos Pick Tim Tebow In First Round

Broncos SHOCK The NFL, Pick Tim Tebow In First Round

The Broncos shocked the NFL Thursday night by picking Florida quarterback Tim Tebow in the first round of the NFL Draft.

The Broncos used a package of mid-round selections to trade up for Tebow after taking Georgia Tech wide receiver Demaryius Thomas earlier in the round.

Tebow, a former Heisman trophy winner, is one of the most decorated college quarterbacks of all time, but many doubt his pro potential due to the peculiar offense he played in at Florida and an unorthodox throwing motion.

Some have even suggested that Tebow would be better playing an H-back position, or substituting in for certain special plays.

ESPN, who is telecasting the Draft, instantly graded the Tebow pick an "F" on its website.

Tebow addressed criticism in an interview on ESPN. "I was asked to do something at Florida, I was asked to run a certain style of offense," Tebow said. "Now, I'm getting asked to do something different. I'm going to do everything possible to do that."

Tebow, considered to be one of the most marketable players in the NFL already, inspired "raucous cheers" from the crowd at Radio City Music Hall, according to the AP.

Coach Josh McDaniels said he's not concerned about Tebow's adjustment, pointing out "He's been very well coached. I don't look at it like his system doesn't fit our system. No quarterback's does."
