A teary Brooke Shields took the podium to talk about Michael Jackson, her friend since they met when she was 13. She shared old memories and said that while their relationship was considered unlikely by the media, "to us, it was the most natural and easiest of friendships."
The eulogy comes a day after she spoke to Rolling Stone about her 'asexual' friendship with Jackson.
Shields said that Jackson's favorite song was 'Smile' by Charlie Chaplin and that's what everyone needs to do now. She closed by reading a passage from 'The Little Prince,' whose titular character reminds her of her friend.
