The live-action adaptation of Warren Ellis' comic book "Red" is moving closer toward production with news from The Hollywood Reporter that Bruce Willis is currently in talks to play the lead in the spy/action movie. The talk has been going on for a while, apparently, and Willis' people have made a counter offer to the producers at Summit Entertainment. Says THR: In "Red," Willis would portray a former black-ops agent who has gone into retirement but is forced back into action when a high-tech assassin comes a-callin to threaten him and his girlfriend. Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian are producing, and Erich and Jon Hoeber are writing the screenplay, which is based on the WildStorm/DC Comic.
It's hard to believe, but Bruce Willis is continuing with the action film role, and that's without returning to the Die Hard franchise.
Willis, who just turned 54 is in the midst of finalizing deals to star in three more action centered projects.
