It was only a matter of time before prominent right-wing pundit Bryan Fischer sounded off on the controversial Boy Scouts policy prohibiting gays from participating.
Of the issue -- brought to the forefront in recent weeks following the case of Jennifer Tyrrell, who was forced to resign as den mother of her son's Tiger Scout troop because she is a lesbian -- Fischer notes, "If the Boy Scouts allowed homosexuals to become scout leaders, that would be the end of the Boy Scouts."
Before going on to cite former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky as a "homosexual pedophile," Fischer continues, "We know that pedophilia occurs at excessive rates in the homosexual community...there's no way parents are going to trust their kids to the Boy Scouts unless they are very, very careful about screening."
The American Family Association official has been particularly vocal about his opposition to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) matters in recent weeks. Last week, he slammed same-sex couples adopting children as "a form of child abuse," and even comparing LGBT people to the recent disturbing spare of cannibal cases, specifically those "who...eat the faces off homeless people."
