New York City Fire Department crews responded to the scene of a partial building collapse in Midtown Manhattan on Wednesday afternoon.
FDNY told the Associated Press that at least one person was seriously injured when part of a three-story building on West 57th Street and 11th Avenue crumbled.
Emergency Medical Services told WPIX that the person's injuries are not life threatening. Photos from the scene show rubble that fell on top of a parked school bus. The area has been cordoned off.
16 construction workers were in the building at the time of the collapse, but everyone has been accounted for.
More from the AP:
Construction workers say the collapse Wednesday afternoon sounded like an explosion. Rubble from the building damaged a yellow school bus parked on the street. Firefighters are using drilling equipment to examine the wreckage.
Preliminary reports came in around 2:45 p.m. It is yet unclear what caused the collapse. The building appears to have been unoccupied.
