Burger Bash 2013 Winners: Bobby Flay, Jeff Mauro Tops At South Beach Wine And Food Festival (VIDEO, PHOTOS)

And The Burger Bash Winner Is...

Queso sauce. Potato chips. Green chili pickles.

The above toppings landed chef Bobby Flay top prize of Amstel Light People's Choice Award at the South Beach Wine And Food Festival's Burger Bash competition Friday night.

Flay has been sweating over a grill for the honor for the past seven years of Burger Bashes. And for the past three, it was Chef Michael Symon who took home the coveted meat honor.

"It's about time," Flay told the Assiocated Press. "The green chilies were my secret weapon. I pulled out all the stops for this one. Michael Symon is a tough guy to beat."

With Rachael Ray as host, dozens of chefs gathered in the back of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in South Beach to go patty-to-patty for the tasty contest.

We loved Morimoto's guac-topped burger and frozen Amstel Light shake, Ford Filling Station's Moroccan lamb burger, Symon's hot patty, The Forge's truffle burger, and, well, just about everything we tasted, including the Ritz South Beach's killer side of chocolate-covered bacon.

He may have averted a Symon fourt-peat, but Flay didn't take it all. Judges Anne Burrell, Andrew Zimmern, Jeffrey Chodorow and previous winner Spike Mendelsohn picked sandwich king Jeff Mauro's burger.
