Freeform's new original series Beyond premiered on Friday evening (October 7) with a special event at New York Comic Con held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City.

The panel included a screening of the first episode in its entirety, followed by a Q&A with executive producers Tim Kring ("Heroes"), David Eick ("Battlestar Galactica"), Adam Nussdorf ("Once Upon A Time in Wonderland") and series star Burkely Duffield.

Our friends over at Celeb Secrets hit up New York Comic Con this weekend and was able to get the scoop on Freeform's newest show from Burkely, Tim, and David moments before their panel. Did you know that Beyond was one of the reasons why ABC Family made the transition to Freeform? Check out the full video below to find out more about the sci-fi drama.

Beyond centers on Holden Matthews (Burkely Duffield), a young man who wakes up from a coma after 12 years and discovers new abilities that propel him into the middle of a dangerous conspiracy. Now Holden must try to figure out what happened to him during those 12 years; how to survive a world that changed while he was gone; and answer the question, why did this happen to him?

In addition to Duffield playing Holden, Beyond also stars Romy Rosemont ("Glee") as Diane Matthews, Michael McGrady ("American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J. Simpson") as Tom Matthews, Jonathan Whitesell ("Once Upon a Time") as Luke Matthews, Dilan Gwyn ("Da Vinci's Demons") as Willa and Jeff Pierre ("Shameless") as Jeff McArdle.

The show is a real game-changer to the network, as the entire season will be available for binge watching on multiple digital platforms, including the Freeform app, Freeform.com, On Demand and Hulu after the two-hour premiere event this January.

"The premiere of 'Beyond' marks an important milestone in the history of Freeform, nearly a year since our rebrand," said Tom Ascheim, president, Freeform. "One of the promises we made to our audience at the time was to create content they love and to make that content easily accessible. 'Beyond' helps us live up to both promises. In the same way we modernized our brand, we are modernizing how we bring our shows to our audience. 'Beyond' is our first, and definitely not our last, 'binge-from-the-start' show."

We had the opportunity to view the first two episodes this weekend and it will definitely leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more. The series trailer (which you can watch below) is only a tease of what's to come. From amazing special effects to a fresh-faced and talented cast, Beyond will easily become your newest TV addiction.

Don't miss the two-hour premiere of Beyond, as it will make its television debut on Monday, January 2nd, 2017 @ 9PM ET/PT on Freeform.
