A huge part of being a parent is carrying a million heavy things everywhere you go. On occasions when I’ve been able to leave the house solo, I feel like twirling around like Maria in “The Sound of Music” because I feel so free and unburdened without my usual purse/my son’s backpack/bag full of snacks plus a soccer ball/heavy-ass bicycle/27 grocery bags burden.
That, plus lifting and carrying a 20-50-pound human on one side of your body, can contribute to some weird aches and pains.
That’s why Busy Philipps’ latest Instagram post is so relatable.
Underneath a picture of herself loaded down with giant bags, the actress wrote: “I’m getting an MRI on my right shoulder tomorrow because I’ve been having so much pain for the last several months. Everyone has been asking how I injured it and I don’t have a good answer. BUT THEN I JUST CAUGHT MY REFLECTION WALKING UP TO MY HOUSE. I THINK I FIGURED IT OUT GUYS. I’M A MOM.”
Philipps and her husband, Marc Silverstein, have two daughters, 8-year-old Birdie and 3-year-old Cricket. Phillips regularly shares sweet photos of the two on Instagram.
Let’s hope Philipps’ insurance covers “mom shoulder.”
