The popular Butterball Turkey Talk-Line is getting an upgrade this year: Now you can text or tweet your questions about how to prepare the centerpiece of your Thanksgiving dinner.

From Nov. 17-24, the company will reply to text messages sent to (844) 877-3456. Experts will be on hand to answer questions 24 hours a day.

The company’s telephone hotline, a tradition since 1981, is already active and will remain in operation through Christmas Eve at 1-800-BUTTERBALL. The hours vary, but the hotline has operators available to answer questions in English and Spanish. Last year, the company said some 50 experts answered roughly 100,000 questions.

Along with phone calls and text messages, Butterball is doing some turkey talk via Twitter, and even has a chat option on the company’s website. If you need more help getting your holiday feast on the table, Butterball has also posted some turkey planning and preparation tips on its website, including how to thaw, brine, roast, grill, smoke and carve your holiday bird.
